Danse des Dragée

Sugar Plum Dance Hat and Cowl

Every year at holiday time, I make it a point to watch The Nutcracker. The parade of sweets is my favorite part, culminating in La Danse de la Fée- Dragée (the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy). Dragées are a hard-shelled sweet filled with spices, nuts, or seeds, often used for celebrations. Their round shapes can be found dancing up and down this cowl.

The cowl in three sizes is worked bottom-up in the round beginning with a contrast i-cord or provisional cast-on. Cables can be worked with or without cable needles. An i-cord bind-off finishes the piece. Skills required: basic stitches, cables, i-cord or crocheted provisional cast on, and i-cord bind off.

The hat is available in five sizes to fit everyone in the family. The piece is worked bottom-up in the round beginning with a contrast color brim. Cables can be worked with or without a cable needle. Skills required: basic stitches, cables, stretchy cast-on.

Patterns are available separately or as a bundle for a 25% discount. At this time, I can only offer the bundle discount through Ravelry or Payhip. If you prefer to purchase from another source, please contact me.

This beautiful hand-dyed yarn is available from Trunk Full of Color. Shane also has yarn kits available for the patterns here.
