I received a little Christmas cash that I would like to spend on knitting supplies. One thing I really need to do is increase my knitting library. So I would like to propose a question to all you wonderful knitters.
If you were stranded on a desert island with a huge supply of yarn and all your knitting needles, what would be the one knitting book that you would want with you? Yes, this is a most unusual island with an abundance of cotton and wool and other fabulous fibers just itching to be knitted -think of it as a LYI (little yarn Island). To put this another way, what do you consider your must-have knitting book and why?
Looking forward to all your replies.
Knitting in peace.
Thanks for the suggestions kayoni and shelly. I will have to make a point to read both.
I think that Shelly has a great idea of coordinating our books when packing for this island.

I think it would have to be something by Elizabeth Zimmermann, Knitters almanac parhaps. Her books are always an inspiration to me as they get me thinking as well as knitting. And I then come up with some ideas of my own too to try. And she is just such a lovely writer, it’s like having someone chatting in the room with you. If you haven’t read any, get your hands on some!

The book I’d most likely take would be “AlterKnits” by Leigh Radford. I like it for the variety of patterns and the charts and creativity exercises. Please remember it’s a woman’s perogative to change her mind, and because I have a good sized library I would probably change it at least 10 times while packing! Of course if I were fortunate enough to own any of BW’s treasuries or the Harmony Guides I would probably take one of those.
So when you ladies are packing, could we please coordinate so we each take a different book.
