Does Anybody Else Have Problems with Tissue Paper??

From Tabitha Knits…

Finished the baby shower gift I have been working on for several days now. The set is from Mason Dixon Knitting. All three patterns were fun and easy knits. The kimono was especially fun to knit.

My problem now is that I am having a terrible time wrapping the set in the obligatory tissue paper. How do you wrap tissue paper around something without tearing it? Why does the stuff wrinkle as soon as you touch it? Why do they only put one sheet of each color in those packages? And what is that stuff for anyway – does it actually serve any purpose? Now I am left with lavendar and three different shades of pink to wrap a present for a baby boy. I don’t think Branden’s mother will really be impressed with those color choices.

The colors of the bibs and kimono actually match better than the photo shows. Told you I was a better knitter than photographer.
Now I can get back to sock knitting!

What a lucky baby! My suggestion for gift wrapping is to buy a gift bag, fold everything and place neatly in the bag…just put some crinkled tissue on top

That is such a beautiful set! Are the buttons on the bibs little cars? I made a couple of the bibs for a friend as well, using Snuggly Bubbly in a seafoam green color (they want the gender to be a surprise). What I did was fold the two bibs and tied a ribbon around them, then wrapped that bundle in tissue paper.

Your baby set is beautiful! That’s one lucky baby who receives such a nice gift 🙂 I wish I had that bib pattern when my boys were babies. That’s a fabulous (and easy) pattern!

    happy knitting 🙂

Buy the large packs of white tissue at Christmas time – it’s cheaper, and the Christmas tissue seems to be a bit sturdier than what’s available the rest of the year.
White won’t transfer color to the gift if it accidentally gets wet! Goes with everything!
Practically, as you know, tissue protects the gift from damage, and especially our handknits from snags. But it’s really all about presentation, isn’t it?
